This paper will survey the landscape of digital ancient numismatics and recent Linked Open Data initiatives to build a common digital framework for the entire discipline. It will introduce the nomisma.org project that forms the foundation of this work by providing a common Knowledge Organisation System. It will then introduce some of the projects in Greek and Roman numismatics that have been built of this framework. Following this introduction, it will then introduce and explain the CHANGE project, currently in progress and funded by the European Research Council (Grant no. 865680: https://app.dimensions.ai/details/grant/grant.8963710) , to build a suite of Linked Open Data resources to aid in the research of the monetary history of ancient Anatolia. These consist of databases devoted to the types of coins produced, archaeologically recorded findspots, the evidence of hoards, and the epigraphic evidence for monetary behaviour. Some examples of what is now possible will be demonstrated. The paper will conclude by asking what is next in the field of AI that can be built upon the substantial existing digital framework for ancient numismatics.
